To enable you to estimate the impact of introducing 20 Free hours at your centre for a week, we have provided a calculator which takes a snapshot of estimated funding and fees for a selected week. Please note that these figures are only an estimation.  They are calculated assuming that all eligible children will have their maximum allowed free hours at your service. Fees have to be estimated as an hourly rate because you will need to charge "hourly" once you have introduced 20 Free hours. If you do not currently have an hourly rate you will need to approximate this figure. You can also use this calculator to test the increased revenue at your centre should you wish to adjust your fees on or after the 1st July 2007. To view the impact of the new 20 free hours funding only, you can achieve this by leaving the "fees" fields blank. Please note that this will provide you with details of funding differences only and NOT the entire picture.

From the home menu, click "Reports",  "Finance Reports", "Centre Options", "20 Free Hours calculator". or from anywhere in the system click the Green piece of puzzle at the top right of the screen that is labelled 'Finance", and click "20 Free Hours Calculator".

 

	Enter the date of the week you wish to have a snapshot view of.
	Enter your current funding band.
	Enter your current estimated hourly rate  for under and over 2 children.
	If you are proposing to change your hourly rate with the introduction of 20 free hors, enter the new under and over 2 hourly rates. If you are not changing your rates, enter your current rates again.
	Click the "continue" button to calculate the impact of 20 free hours for the selected week in your centre.
	To return to the previous screen, click the "Cancel" button.
